Further weather warnings have been issued as an amber weather warning is now in place for parts of the East Midlands. From 3:21pm until 7pm on Monday, June 12, the amber warning is in place for parts of Leicestershire and Derbyshire, with some parts of Nottinghamshire falling close or under the warning boundary.
The amber warning states: "Active thunderstorms will bring heavy rainfall, lightning, strong winds, and hail. Travel disruption and surface water flooding are likely."
Most of Nottinghamshire remains under a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms, which will remain in place from 12pm until 9pm. This yellow warning states: "Thunderstorms and torrential downpours may bring disruption to parts of England and Wales during Monday."
Despite the predicted showers, Nottingham is still expected to reach highs of 28C.
