- July has been significantly drier and warmer than average, with southern England receiving only 1% of its typical rainfall and the UK experiencing temperatures 3C above average, contributing to the current heat stress.
- The UK Health Security Agency has warned of increased health risks , especially for vulnerable groups, due to the rising temperatures, with the amber alert in place from Wednesday 29 July until Thursday 30 July.
