Johnny Depp is planning to donate $1million (£795,000) to charity after his ex-wife Amber Heard finally paid the settlement from their explosive defamation trial.
The long-running legal battle ended back in December, with the jury returning a verdict in Johnny's favour. Amber's insurance company was ordered to pay the huge amount of money to Johnny.
Johnny had sued his ex-wife over a 2018 article she wrote for The Washington Post about her experiences as a survivor of domestic abuse, which lawyers claim accused him of being an abuser.
Johnny wasn't named in the article.
It's now been revealed that the Pirates of the Caribbean star is ready to offload the $1million, with the money being "split up evenly five different ways".
Five different charities will benefit from the $200,000 (£159,000), with each cause being something Johnny believes in.
A source close to Johnny confirmed to The Mirror that they include "aiding sick children with life-threatening illnesses and providing housing for historically disenfranchised communities."
The money will be divided between Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Tetiaroa Society and the Amazonia Fund Alliance.
Make-A-Film Foundation, which is similar to Make-A-Wish Foundation, grants wishes to children from people within the film world.
Johnny has worked with the organisation in the past and created a short film with them.
Johnny chose Painted Turtle and Tetiaroa Society in order to pay tribute to two herores in his life, the respective founders Paul Newman and Marlon Brando.
By donating the money, Johnny is hoping to "continue their legacies".
Red Feather and the Amazonia Fund Alliance focus on supporting indigenous communities keep maintain their culture and heritage.
Their work involves creating shelters and large-scale infrastructure projects to protect villages.
