Three young children have been found at a service station after an urgent search.

Police had sought public help to find the three children, aged three, five and six, who went missing on the Gold Coast on Sunday afternoon.

They were spotted at a 7-Eleven petrol station in Mount Warren Park, south of Brisbane, about 7am on Monday.

A 27-year-old man from Paradise Park was later charged with three counts each of cruelty to children under 16 years and leaving a child under 12 unattended.

He is due to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday, with police to allege he failed to provide reasonable provision for supervision and care for the three children.

Detective Acting Superintendent Mark White earlier said police received information the children were in a car about 30 to 40m from the service station.

"And they've walked to the 7-Eleven which is nearby and obviously the employee there has contacted police," he told reporters.
