Amazon slashes price of its Fire TV so it rivals Sony and Samsung's budget range

When it comes to home entertainment there are a whole range of options for those on both big and small budgets. For those at the lower end of the market, both Samsung and Sony have had products to fit the bank balance.

But now Amazon has cut the price of its new Fire TV making it a much cheaper option than it was previously. The Amazon Fire TV 2-Series has all the channels you would expect from a market leader including access to apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus.

And with the free options of Youtube, Pluto and Freevee also available there is something for those who don't have the cash to splash out on subscriptions or who would rather spend their money on something else. It also comes with Amazon Alexa which talks to other Amazon Echo products such as those which control smart devices such as cameras and lights in the home.

The Fire TV's normally retail price comes in at £249.99 but now that has been cut to just £179.99. And while you are unlikely to get amazing picture quality with its 720p and 32-inch screen, if you are looking for a budget TV this might be the thing, reports the Manchester Evening News..

The online retailer is also cutting the price of its bigger model. Its 40-inch screen option is now £229.99 which is a 23% saving on the usual price.

Along with this saving on the Fire TV 2-Series, Amazon is also offering two Echo Dot speakers, worth £109.98, for just £63.98. It's a huge deal for anyone wanting to fill their homes with speakers or wants to grab an Echo and give a friend or family a device as well, reports the Mirror.

The Echo Dot 5th Gen now features improved sound, deeper bass and simple access to Alexa. To redeem the deal you simply need to pop two Echo Dots in your shopping basket and apply the code ECHODOT at the checkout.
