Yes, if you've not had a Prime account before, as Amazon offers all new customers a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime. After that you'll be charged £7.99 a month or £79 a year, but you can cancel your Prime account at any time during the trial and you won't be charged.
TIPS FOR FINDING THE BEST PRIME DAY DEALS
The simple answer is yes because of how good the deals are but we do have some small tips that you should be aware of ahead of the day later this year.
1. Use a free trial to shop the Prime Day sale
If you think about it, Prime members are spending £7.99 a month to shop the Prime Day sale. The idea of paying to shop a sale is a bit odd but considering the amazing prices on offer every year, it's a small price to pay. However, if you're a new Prime user, sign up to Prime before Prime Day and you can shop the sale for free with the free 1 month trial.
2. Shop with an Amazon Gift Card
If you have an Amazon Gift Card that you haven't used yet, why not use it in the Prime Day sales? Amazon in the past has also allowed people to 'reload' gift cards as an extra way of saving money but we are yet to confirm if this service will be available in the 2023 sale.
3. Treat yourself to some early deals
Amazon has deals running every single day so if you're in desperate need of a new golf club set, golf bag or golf watch immediately, you can find some cheap prices on the Amazon Daily Deals page. The Prime Day sale will have the lowest prices but it can’t hurt to treat yourself to a lightning deal or two before the big event.

Let me quickly walk you through one deal that I am actually seriously considering buying. This weekend I was out playing a round of golf with a few friends and my current smart watch died on me.
I've been looking to purchase a new gps golf watch for some time, but have been holding out for the sales and it seems my lucky day has finally come as the excellent Garmin Approach S12 Smart Watch is on sale during Prime Day!

PACKAGE DEALS FOR HIGHER HANDICAPPERS
Golf is a very expensive sport to play and I think utilising sales like Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday can be great ways for every kind of player to retain some extra cash... which they can then use to spend on more golf gear!
I know I'll be looking to jump on some of the golf tech deals we have coming up today, but for higher handicap players, Prime Day can be a fantastic way to help you spend less and get more.
Whether you're just starting out, looking to get a handicap or just fancy a knock around with friends at the weekend, package sets are an excellent way to nab yourself a full set of high quality clubs, and a bag in a hassle-free value price.
While we tend to not see that many package sets cater to lower handicap golfers, the Callaway XR set, which is currently 22 per cent off at Amazon, is a premium quality set for higher handicappers looking to improve.
I actually play with an old set of XR irons and can safely say they are some of the most forgiving, yet powerful clubs I've played with. Equally, I've played with them since I was a 21 handicapper and they've really helped me bring down my scores.

Golf technology is advancing at a phenomenal rate and amateur players are have been, for a few years, able to get their hands on technology that only really would have been available to Tour professionals in years gone by.

Sepp Straka dazzled during his final round at the John Deere Classic this weekend, winning the tournament by two shots.
The Austrian, rather amazingly, carded nine birdies and an eagle during his final round and was on track to make a historic 59 on Sunday.
Straka ranks inside the top 20 on the PGA Tour for his approach play, and that might partly be down to the wedges he uses which are currently 15 percent off on Amazon.

RICKIE FOWLER'S DRIVER IS NOW ON SALE
How good was Rickie Fowler last week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic by the way? It's been a long time coming for the American, who ended a four-year wait for a win on the PGA Tour in Detroit after he's noticeably struggled with his game.
His last win came at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in 2019 but this year he's turned things around going on to finish inside the top ten on eight occasions while rising to eighth in the FedEx Cup standings.
That may partly be down to some of the new equipment he's been using, including the excellent new Cobra Aerojet LS Driver which is on sale right now at Amazon!
The Aerojet LS is Cobra's low spin offering for their 2023 range of clubs. It offers plenty of power from the tee and thanks to its aerodynamic design, helps players rifle their way through the golf ball, injecting greater speed onto the golf ball.
Fowler seems to have reaped the rewards of this new club, with the American sitting at second on tour for driver efficiency. While this isn't a club that is tailored towards lower handicap players, I certainly recommend any experienced ball striker having a swing with this visually superb model!

If you're looking for a new driver then today is certainly a good day for you!
There's plenty of deals on Amazon on some of the best new models that have only just been released this year.
Considering how new some of these models are, I'm not expecting these deals to hang around for very long!
Admittedly, drivers are by and large the most expensive clubs to purchase, particularly if you're buying them brand new.
But if you're after the latest and best models, there are savings to be had on the TaylorMade Stealth 2, Cobra Aerojet and Wilson Dynapower drivers - which all feature in our guide to the best golf drivers.

The first to talk about is the TaylorMade Stealth 2 driver, one of the most hotly anticipated clubs to be released this year following the success of its predecessor, the Stealth driver.
Earning a 4.5-star rating when we took it out for a spin, I think TaylorMade have really refined the package on this driver, which improves and updates the excellent black and red visuals in a glossy package. It is forgiving and packs a lot of punch, which many golfers, from lower handicappers to those looking to break single figures will enjoy.
The Aerojet comes next, and while we've already spoken about this club, I'll add that the standard version of the Aerojet is a more forgiving option compared to the LS. We enjoyed it so much that it's been added to our Editors Choice Awards for 2023!
And the Dynapower driver from WIlson. This is a technologically advanced club that I think really looks the business. It boasts a matte black finish that is combined with some carbon fiber detailinig that gives it plenty of shelf appeal.
While it might not be able to match the two clubs above for speed and launch, it's a great club for anyone looking for a game-improvement driver.
WANT TO REPLENISH YOUR GOLF BALL STOCKS?
If you're like me and you regularly find yourself slicing golf balls left right and centre, you'll know that you need to keep your collection of golf balls well stocked.
I often think buying refurbished lake balls can be a great way to save a lot of money on golf balls for when you're planning on not playing too seriously but still want to play a fairly decent ball like a Titleist Pro V1 or a TaylorMade TP5.
The thing I find about lake balls is they never run true to the real thing, and sometimes, it's perhaps better to play with balls that are fresh from the pack.
So I often find myself bulk buying golf balls during Amazon Prime Day in a bid to get the best value for my investment, save money but also ensure I'm hitting a top-quality offering.
I've been scouring through Amazon today and have found that some of the best golf balls on sale during Prime Day.
MY FAVORITE DEAL OF THE DAY!
So I'm about to hand over to my colleague Dan Parker who will be taking you through the afternoon - but I want to wrap up by bringing you my favorite deal of the day!
I have been getting into golf technology a lot lately and I'm really enjoying playing with the Arccos Caddie Gen3+ Smart sensors. As someone who has long complained about wanting to improve as a golfer but never really kicked on, the new Gen3+ sensors have really helped me take stock and look at where I'm losing opportunities to gain shots around the course.
I think a lot of the team will agree with me that the sensors are some of the best bits of golf tech in the game right now and many players will be able to take advantage of the analytics they offer that delve into stats like your swing speed and average club distances.

Here's a fun one that has just gone live on Prime Day. The Alphard CIub Booster V2, a device that turns normal push carts into full remote electric caddies, is now less than $650. I tested the Alphard Club Booster V2 out on the golf course earlier this year and was pleasantly surprised by how much fun and how easy it was to use once assembled. So long as you've got one of the many push carts that are compatible with the device, you're good to go and the Club Booster effectively acts as the back wheels of your push cart. It's certainly a unique product and really does save you a lot of money versus and fully-fledged remote electric caddie.
Best UK Prime Day Deal?
I think this has to be right up there with the best golf deals in the UK this Prime Day, Right now, and still in plenty of sizes, the Skechers Torque Waterproof golf shoes are just £55. Skechers golf shoes are renowned for comfort, and this shoe benefits from a Goga Max insole that offers superb comfort underfoot. As good as half price, this is the lowest we've seen this pair of shoes on Amazon.
