As this weekend is set to be a scorcher with temperatures hitting 20 degrees, many families will break out the paddling pools to cool off in their gardens.
However, a major warning has been issued regarding a brand of paddling pool sold on the Amazon website. The Bestway Paddling Pool has been urgently recalled over safety freas caused by a dangerous chemical.
The plastic material of the product has been found to have an excessive concentration of phthalates. These phthalates may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to the reproductive system, according to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

The product brand is Bestway with the ASIN number B002CIKZ12. The batch number, barcode and model are unknown.
Over 200 of the paddling pools were sold in the Republic of Ireland. A notice on the CCPC website reads: "If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately, discard the product and keep it out of the reach of children.
"You may wish to contact Amazon to see if there are any remedies available to you. This can be done via your user account on Amazon."
