Amazon said it received approximately $600 million in tariff refunds after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down many of President Donald Trump's import tariffs, with the e-commerce giant announcing that some of that money will be returned directly to customers who paid higher prices because of the duties.
The disclosure took place onThursday during Amazon's second-quarter earnings call, where Chief Financial Officer Brian Olsavsky outlined how the company is handling the refunds and explained why Amazon's reimbursement was smaller than some investors may have expected.
