More major retailer across the UK have confirmed they will be shutting up shop to mark the funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Amazon, IKEA, Next, Wilko and Homebase are the latest big-name companies to announce that they will not be open for business as normal next Monday, September 19. It comes after similar announcements from retailers such as Primark, Poundland, B&Q, B&M and Home Bargains, and supermarket chains such as Lidl, Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.
Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully at the Royal Family summer home Balmoral Castle, based in Aberdeenshire last Thursday, September 8. The long-reigning monarch's funeral has been planned for next Monday, September 19 at 11am, which has now been officially declared as a bank holiday by King Charles III.
Following the announcement, multiple major retailers announced they would be closing the doors, or changing their operating hours, as a mark of respect to the late monarch.
