Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is investing $100 million into neglected urban land across eight American cities. The massive funds will be used to convert vacant plots, former industrial sites and unused spaces into public parks and wildlife habitats. According to Bezos Earth Fund, the investment will support projects ranging from the restoration of 600 vacant properties in Cleveland to a new park on a former motorway ramp in Little Rock.
Other plans include planting trees along a popular Salt Lake City trail, restoring wetlands in Indianapolis and expanding green space around Los Angeles’ historic Watts Towers. The projects are designed to improve access to nature while giving overlooked land a new purpose.
