Around 800,000 Brits using Amazon credit cards have a year left before these are cancelled.
The issue affects Amazon Classic and Platinum Mastercards, the latter which lets users build up points to spend on Amazon purchases.
These credit cards are powered by provider NewDay, which is now walking away from the agreement.
Card users have until January next year before their cards stop working, MoneySavingExpert reports.
The precise end point has not yet been revealed.
People with a Platinum card get 0.75 points for every £1 they spend at Amazon, or 1.5 points if they have Amazon Prime.
They get 0.25 points for every £1 they spend elsewhere.
Once they get 1,000 points they get a £10 Amazon giftcard automatically.
Those with the Classic card can't earn points, and the item works more like a standard credit card.
People with either card in January 2023 will keep their account but be issued with new cards from NewDay, branded as 'NewDay Pulse'.
The end of the deal in January 2023 does not affect how long customers have to repay their balances.
These do not offer any sort of Amazon points, though Pulse cards will pay 0.25% cashback on whatever you spend, capped at £150 a year.
NewDay announced an end to the agreement with a stock exchange announcement.
NewDay chief financial officer Paul Sheriff said: “We have enjoyed a successful partnership with Amazon over the past few years and we wish them all the best for the future."
The provider ended the deal because it wasn't making enough money, The Mirror understands.
Amazon has been approached for comment.
You can close your Amazon credit cards before next January, though any debt will need to have been paid off first
You can close your account by using the Amazon Mastercard app, by logging into your online account or by calling 0333 220 2672 for Platinum cards and 0330 838 0160 for Classic cards.
Earlier this month The Mirror reported that Amazon is to close 68 shops across the UK and US so it can focus on its grocery and convenience store chains.
The closures will see the online retail giant shutter all of its bookstores as well as its 4-Star shops and pop-up locations.
Amazon has confirmed 66 shops in the US will close, while two stores in the UK will also be shut down.
The US-based tech giant only opened its first UK Amazon 4-Star store, located in the Bluewater shopping centre, in October 2021.
It was described as a “mini department store” and sells items such as books, technology and toys - all of which are rated 4-stars or higher.
The second UK Amazon 4-Star opened in Westfield shopping centre in London in November 2021.
Closing dates are expected to vary depending on the location of each store, according to Reuters, which first published the news. It isn't immediately clear how many workers will be affected.
Amazon said in a statement: “We’ve decided to close our Amazon 4-star, Books and Pop Up stores, and focus more on our Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, Amazon Go and Amazon Style stores."
