A brand new retro-style bar and restaurant has opened its doors in Leeds this week.
Caballero Lounge opened its doors in Thorpe Park business complex on Wednesday, February 22. The new venue, which is dog friendly, is the second chain of Lounges to open after Dave Reid, Alex Reilley, and Jake Bishop founded the Bristol spot in 2002.
After much success, the owners have now spread their wings to West Yorkshire. The venue is decorated with eclectic artwork, 1940s-style furniture, and customers can enjoy tapas dishes, burgers, and signature or classic cocktails.

Announcing the news of their opening on social media, a spokesperson for Callerbo Lounge said: "Exciting news. We will be opening our doors in Leeds on February 22. Our informal café-bar will be open all day, every day for long, lazy breakfasts, sociable brunches and lunches, and relaxed dinner and drinks. We can't wait to meet you!"
Owners said: "Our menus reflect our personality. We take food really seriously, using the best fresh produce in really creative dishes, and also make sure our menus are about pleasure, indulgence, and fun."
Brunch options include classic breakfast favourites as well as triple-stacked pancakes with all the toppings. Lunch eaters can enjoy ciabattas, sandwiches, or salads. Those who love tapas can choose from pulled chicken and chorizo, garlic and chilli flatbread, cheddar and sweetcorn fritters, falafel and supergrain bowl, and salt and pepper squid.
Every Monday the eatery is offering a free drink or churros, sticky toffee pudding, or brownie, with any special, main, or burger when ordered together, as part of 'Cheeky Mondays'. What's more, the venue prides itself on having a dedicated vegan and gluten-free menu, as well as choices for kids. There are also plenty of books, toys, crayons, and colouring pads, for 'Little Loungers' to keep occupied with during dining hours.
After just two days in business, Caballero Lounge has already been inundated with positive reviews. Sue Makin said: "Best place out by a country mile. Just what east Leeds and the surrounding area need. We adore Caballero."
Jennifer Marshall added: "I loved it last night. Great food and drinks and great atmosphere." And Donna-Marie Whatmore said: "Loved it last night thank you.
"Amazing food and all the staff there was incredible couldn't do enough for us. Defiantly be coming back with family and friends my new favourite place."
