'Amazing' Glasgow doctors amputate schoolboy's leg and keep his football dream alive

An aspiring young footballer who was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer last November has undergone life-saving surgery.

Connor Elliot, 15, was sadly diagnosed with chondrosarcoma and after scans and a biopsy, he underwent above the knee amputation surgery on his right leg, which will prevent the spread of the vicious cancer.

His mother has shown her appreciation for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde after thanking the "amazing" staff at Glasgow's Hospital for Children for saving her son's life and keeping his dream of playing football for Scotland very much alive.
