Edinburgh locals watched on this afternoon, April 1, as the Queen's Helicopter landed on the grounds of Holyrood Palace.
Various eyewitnesses were left gazing skyward at the sight of the chopper as it made its way onto the grass outside the Queen's residence in the capital, with one in particular saying that it was a "sight to behold."
The brief spell of fog and mist presented the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of the helicopter as it made its way to the capital at around 12pm today, April 1.

The occupants of the helicopter are unconfirmed but Buckingham Palace noted that the Princess Royal has been carrying out various duties in the country over the past few days.
As the helicopter touched down on the grass within Holyrood Park, one eyewitness was watching on from their window.
Jasmine Anderson captured various videos of the huge burgundy-coloured flying machine, saying: "The helicopter flew just past my flat window, touched down surrounded by police cars from afar, police close by and two big boxy black cars that drove right up to the helicopter to collect its passengers, then drove to Holyrood palace, it was done very quickly!"
The videos that Jasmine managed to scramble to capture shows the helicopter landing for a brief spell, before making its way from the park.
The Princess Royal is the name given to the oldest daughter of the British Monarch, in this case, Princes Anne.
Princess Anne was joined by Her Majesty The Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall earlier this week at a memorial service for Prince Phillip in London, as all three were spotted wearing the 'Edinburgh Green' as a fitting tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh.
