Amanda Seyfried has claimed that she felt pressured into filming nude scenes as a teenager amid fears of losing her job.
The Mamma Mia actress, 36, opened up about the 'troublesome' memories she holds from the beginning of her career in an explosive new interview where she questioned how she ever let it happen to her.
The much-loved Hollywood star admitted that she would walk around a movie set with no underwear on after she was pressured into taking her clothes off her nude scenes at the tender age of 19.
Amanda insisted that if she were to go back to her teenage years, she would never dream of taking her clothes off in order to get ahead in her acting career.
Blonde beauty Amanda also said she wished that there were intimacy coordinators back when she started out as an actress as she remembers being put in 'uncomfortable situations' while on set.
“Being 19, walking around without my underwear on – like, are you kidding me? How did I let that happen?” she told Porter.
“Oh, I know why: I was 19 and I didn’t want to upset anybody, and I wanted to keep my job. That’s why.”
Amanda kickstarted her acting career as a soap star as she appeared in hit shows including As the World Turns and All My Children.
And while she was a clear superstar from the outset, Amanda couldn't help but feel she was an 'imposter' in the film and TV industry, and therefore, she wanted to do everything she could to impress her superiors in a bid to make an impression.
The actress was constantly concerned about upsetting her bosses, cast members, and crew, and so, she did everything expected of her with the hopes of broadening her horizons - including shooting nude scenes which left her feeling incredibly uncomfortable.
Following her starring role in cult classic flick Mean Girls, where she played Karen Smith, Amanda also admitted that she was bombarded by teenage boys who would hunt her down in the streets to ask her for a weather forecast.
It comes after her on-screen character famously insisted that she could 'tell' when it was going to rain by the feeling of her boobs.
Amanda revealed that for years, she felt 'grossed out' by the constant reference to her boobs after the famous scene.
"I was like 18 years old. It was just gross,” she told Marie Claire.
