Amanda Holden teased Paul O'Grady on a special episode of For the Love of Dogs that aired this week, which had also featured appearances by Queen Consort Camilla.
Paul, 67, introduced ITV viewers to some dogs who were being looked after by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London. This included giant schnauzer Reggie, eight.
His efforts to get Reggie rehomed saw the presenter take him to a garden party at Clarence House. He met with pal Amanda, 51, whilst at the event held at the royal residence.
Discussing his four-legged companion, Paul told Amanda: "He's an old fella and he's got medical problems". She teased in response: "Have you got a lot in common, Paul?"
Paul replied: "We have. We really have." He added: "The pair of us would suit each other. These old fellas don't stand a chance. [...] It's the same if I go to a club."
He was later shown introducing Reggie to Queen Consort Camilla at the event. She's the patron of Battersea and has homed two dogs from the rescue centre herself.

Discussing Reggie with her, Paul said: "He's an old dog. He had severe medical problems." He added that his four-legged friend was even "close to death" at one point.
He continued: "Battersea at the moment is full [...] and these old gentlemen we find it really hard to get homes for." He said they are so "loving" and "friendly" though.
Camilla said: "I'm sure that there must be somebody out there [who would want to rehome him]. There are a lot of people out there, like you and I, who love taking in dogs".
Paul – who is an ambassador for the centre – later revealed that Reggie had been rehomed after almost three months at the centre. He was rehomed by a couple in East Sussex.
Paul O'Grady: For The Love of Dogs - A Royal Special will be available for catch-up through ITVX.
