Amanda Holden sends cryptic message minutes after Phillip Schofield quits This Morning

TV star Amanda Holden posted a cryptic message to her Instagram just minutes after Phillip Schofield quit This Morning. Phillip Schofield announced on Saturday that he was stepping down from his role on the morning TV show after more than 20 years — you can read his full statement here.

The 61-year-old will not return for a farewell show, and it was announced his last episode aired on Saturday. Holly Willoughby also issued a statement. Just minutes after the news was announced, Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden shared a cryptic image to her Instagram page.

The image of a flexed bicep emoji against a black backdrop was shared to her main grid. The comment section was quickly flooded, despite Amanda leaving no caption on the post.

Previously, Amanda has criticised Phillip, claiming he "cost" her a presenting role on This Morning. The 61-year-old defended himself saying he hoped that his fans "know him better". Amanda has made no secret of her dislike of Phil, who she blamed for scuppering her chance of hosting the flagship show while Holly was away in Australia hosting I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! when Ant stayed back in the UK

The Britain's Got Talent judge was said to thought she had landed her dream job on a temporary basis but Holly's role ended up being given to former pop star Rochelle Humes, 29. Phillip dismissed any role in that as "malicious gossip". Commenting on Amanda's Instagram post, @danwootton said: "indeed", and @oeclan said: "No Holden back for sure - YES AMANDA." Another person commented: "You would make a good replacement."
