Amanda Holden’s comedy show starring pal Keith Lemon as her 'nan' has been axed from Channel 4.
The Holden Girls: Mandy and Myrtle was a faux reality mockumentary series depicting Amanda's life as she persuades her lonely nan to relocate from Doncaster to her swanky London house.
Other big stars who made cameo appearances included Take That star Howard Donald, Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shepard, singer Jason Donovan and Amanda’s Heart radio co-host Ashley Roberts.
It first aired in September 2021 and ran for one eight-part series, but some viewers weren’t impressed.
One took to Twitter to declare it the “worst show ever made” after tuning in for just 10 seconds of the first episode.
It seems Channel 4 have taken note, as the show hasn’t been renewed for a second series.
A source told The Sun : “The Holden Girls proved hilarious together and bosses loved working with Amanda and Keith. But they’ve decided to focus their attention on new comedy shows.”
Channel 4 had "nothing to add" when approached by The Mirror about this story.
But a spokesperson for Amanda Holden told The Mirror the show was only ever commissioned for one series.
They said: “This was only ever a one-off series as agreed two years ago when filming took place.”
Although her sitcom isn’t set to get another airing, Amanda will soon be back on TV screens for the new series of Britain’s Got Talent.
The 16th series of ITV's hit reality show is returning to screens on Saturday, April 15 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
Simon Cowell is back as head judge, with Amanda and Alesha Dixon joining him on the panel.
Former BBC Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli will replace David Walliams as the fourth judge on this year’s show.
David exited the show last year after being forced to apologise when comments he made about contestants on the ITV show were leaked.
A leaked transcript revealed David made crude references about one woman and called a pensioner a 'c***' during filming for Britain's Got Talent back in 2020.
David - who had been a judge on BGT for 10 years - apologised for making 'disrespectful comments', which were made during breaks for filming the show.
A source told The Sun at the time: “He [David] hasn’t taken the decision lightly, but it just feels like time to move on.
“His team have quietly been having conversations over the past few days where it has been made clear that David is readying himself to step down... after an amazing ten years on the show, it is the right time to move on.”
But the upcoming season of BGT has sparked complaints before it has even started airing after a prank left audience members in disgust .
Dance expert Bruno, 67, was victim of a savage prank as he was lured into a stunt which left him thinking he had shot dead 63-year-old Simon with a crossbow.
Footage and photos have leaked form the set of BGT showing Simon lying motionless on stage while Bruno is seen looking shocked as he dashes over to check on the show boss.
*Britain’s Got Talent is back on on ITV and ITVX at 8pm on Saturday April 15 and again at 7.45pm on April 16
