Not everyone has an expensive watch in mind when considering their next hair color change, but the rules are a lot different when you're Amal Clooney. Case in point: her new spring hair color was apparently inspired by none other than Cartier jewelry.
Clooney was in Milan this week for an event with Cartier, where she wore an all-black outfit featuring a black top and a crocodile leather skirt. Her hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, took to Instagram to share a few photos of the 48-year-old's hair for the event, which was styled in a fluffy blowout with very soft curls. Clooney is naturally a brunette, but in the name of spring, Giannetos threw some golden highlights into her hair to add some more dimension to it. Per his caption, he named the new color "La Panthère," inspired by Cartier's Panthère jewelry line.
"I wanted to subtly change [Amal's] hair color and length," he wrote. "La Panthère highlights are bold but at the same time look effortless and very elegant!"
Face-framing highlights aren't a new trend by any means, but hair experts like celebrity colorist Jeremy Cohen have predicted that highlights that look luxurious but are low maintenance in the long run will be some of the most requested hair services among those looking for a color refresh this spring. "Dimensional color is everything right now," Cohen previously told MC. "Clients want color that is wearable and doesn't look overly processed."
