Amadou Onana has admitted he needs to be more 'decisive' in the opposition box if he is to take his game to the next level.
The Everton midfielder has been excellent since arriving from Lille for around £33.5m, forming a solid midfield trio alongside Idrissa Gueye and the outstanding Alex Iwobi. The Belgian's physical presence has been a driving force in the middle of the park, while his defensive qualities were put to the test during yesterday's 0-0 draw with Fulham.
But one key aspect that can be worked on is finishing. Glorious chances were wasted against Southampton and Tottenham in recent weeks, and speaking after the draw at Craven Cottage, Onana admitted he needs to be more 'decisive' in the final third - although he admitted there is no one better to learn from than Blues boss Frank Lampard.

"I want to be decisive for the team, scoring and assisting," Onana told Evertontv.. "That’s what I am working on now. I hope it will pay off very soon.
"I couldn’t have wished for a better manager [than Lampard], in terms of the fact he played my position. He is giving me very good advice on which points I can improve in my game. That’s definitely helpful."
The ease with which Onana has settled into life at Everton will be hugely encouraging for Lampard and the Toffees faithful. The 21-year-old's driving force provides the perfect balance to Gueye's defensive industry and Iwobi's creative spark. Despite two of those three arriving in the summer - although Gueye has been here previously - the midfield unit looks as cohesive as any around Goodison Park for years.
And Onana admits that he and his midfield team-mates are growing together with each game, adding that the more experienced Gueye has been leading with advice on the pitch.
"I think we understand each other off the pitch and you can see it on the pitch," the Belgian admitted. "We have a very good relationship. We are also growing together, and we are getting used to playing with each other."
And on Gueye, he added: "I already knew the player he is and the man he is [before playing alongside him]. He is a very experienced player, he played in Paris and at the highest level you can play. He is a very good player and he gives me very good advice."
