Amadeus review: This messy, sexy riot is a Christmas must-watch

The first time Paul Bettany’s stuffy court composer Salieri sees Mozart is when he’s having sex. Bored and hungry at a Vienna society party, Salieri nips into an ante room where trays of delicacies are laid out.

Suddenly, in bursts Will Sharpe’s handsome young Mozart, with soprano singer Katerina (Jessica Alexander) in tow. Salieri ducks behind a table and looks on aghast as first the pair do something rather rude with a strawberry and then couple intensely on a table which culminates in Mozart ejaculating on a stack of cakes...
