Amad Diallo insists playing alongside a former Celtic star has helped him improve tenfold at Sunderland.
The ex-Rangers loanee, who arrived in Glasgow in January 2022 with somewhat of a pedigree from Manchester United, failed to make the desired impact under Gio Van Bronckhorst. Diallo scored on his debut but couldn't hold down a place at Ibrox before returning to parent club United who then shipped the Ivorian off to Sunderland.
Since the 20-year-old has been in stellar form in the English Championship, making headway in to his hefty £40million price tag the Red Devils shelved out for his services in 2020. Diallo has also struck up a partnership with former Hoops loan man Patrick Roberts, a player that Celtic supporters came to enjoy.

The winger had two spells on loan at Parkhead and has also found his feet at the Stadium of Light after a few misfortunes.
Diallo told Manchester United's official site: "We have many players who are good in the team. When I play with Patrick Roberts, I have much good feeling with him on the pitch. The fans are very good.
"They support us every game, when you play at home and away, and they give you confidence and energy. This is important for us.”
He added: "So, when a player goes on loan, the first thing is to get lots of playing minutes, and, yes, once you get lots of minutes and start playing lots, you grow straight away. Your confidence increases, and I think that, since I have been here, at the beginning I didn’t play much, but then I started playing regularly and, from there, it all started.
"And, like I said before, I think this loan spell will help me for next season because it has helped me mature, and I have grown lots, on a mental level as well, and feel I have the ability to show this next season."
