Diallo, who joined Rangers on loan from Manchester United under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, didn't hit the heights hoped during his time at Ibrox, however it has been a different story at Sunderland with some crucial goals and assists this term. He's often produced that moment of magic alongside former Celtic favourite Patrick Roberts with both set to have a big say in how the season will end for his current club.
Diallo's form and contribution has been recognised with a major club award. A club statement read: "We are delighted to confirm Amad has won the BLC Supporters’ Young Player of the Year award for 2022-23.
"Arriving on loan from Manchester United in August 2022, the young forward has become an integral part of Tony Mowbray’s side, scoring 12 goals and claiming three assists in 35 league appearances.
"The Ivorian international also scooped the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for December, and has provided fans at the Stadium of Light with some magical moments. Congratulations, Amad!"
