Amad Diallo outlines Manchester United ambition after impressing at Sunderland

Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo is hoping he gets an opportunity to impress when he returns from his Sunderland loan spell. The Ivorian international has been one of the surprise package this season, notching 11 times in 34 games for the Black Cats this season.

Amad scored twice in the 4-4 draw with Hull City on Good Friday with Sunderland still in the hunt for a Championship play-off place. The Red Devils loanee has quickly become a fan favourite in his short stint on Wearside but hopes to break through at Old Trafford when he returns at the end of the season.

The Ivorian had a disappointing loan spell with Scottish Premiership side Rangers, and only featured a few times for Erik ten Hag in pre-season before another loan spell was given the green light. Amad has left a lasting impressing on both supporters and his manager, with Tony Mowbray imploring Manchester United not to recall the striker in January, having already lost Ellis Simms.

Amad will return to Manchester United at the end of the season and he's hoping he can showcase his talent. Speaking to FourFourTwo, he said: “I haven’t shown my best for them [United] yet, but I hope next season I can return and prove my talent. My dream is to play regular football at Manchester United."

Amad's last competitive senior appearance for United came back in May 2021 in the 2-1 win over Wolves on the final day of the season. Two weeks earlier, he notched his first assist for the senior side against Leicester City in a 2-1 defeat on home soil.
