Alton Towers conference centre evacuated amid fears of 'chemical-related incident'

Guests were evacuated from Alton Towers after a suspected 'chemical-related incident'. Emergency services were called to the theme park after reports of an 'unusual smell'.

During the emergency response on Tuesday (3 January), guests at the conference centre had to be evacuated. The alarm was issued at 12:45am.

Stoke on Trent Live reports there was an investigation by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service following the smell, which was reported in an employee-only kitchen within the conference centre.
