The condition of former jumps superstar Altior has improved in the last 24 hours but he still has a "very long way to go", warned trainer NIcky Henderson.
The two-time Champion Chase winner has been in equine hospital since the weekend after falling sick with colic for which he had to have part of his intestine removed in the first of two surgeries.
On Wednesday Altior's condition was described as "critical, but stable" but in an update on his Unibet blog, Henderson said: “I am pleased to report this morning that Altior had a good night and is more comfortable than he has been so far.
