Celebrations will then turn to the Jubilee, with a fun line-up of events in the Garden’s Barneyside picnic area from 2 June until 5 June. Guests will be able to enjoy picnics on the lawn while watching celebrations unfold across the UK on a giant outdoor screen.
A Right Royal Rendezvous will take place on 2 June, where some familiar princesses will meet and greet guests and pose for selfies. Kids are encouraged to dress up for the occasion in their best royal outfits.
Organisers will be dishing up a hog roast and Greek gyros in the picnic area throughout the long weekend, and there will also be a Pimm's tent and bar on the site as well as funfair rides. The screen will show the likes of Trooping the Colour, The Pageant, and Lighting of the Beacons, before broadcasting the BBC’s Platinum Party music concert live from Buckingham Palace.
A total of 3,000 free tickets are available for the screening on Saturday 4 June, which runs from 8pm until 10:30pm. The Garden’s famous attractions such as the Treehouse and the Poison Garden will also be open as usual - and it’s the perfect time to visit the Garden, as the first rose of the season bloomed just days ago in the picturesque Rose Garden.
The Garden Party and Jubilee events are free with entry to the Garden. You can find the full line-up of activities and book a place for the Platinum Party screening on the Alnwick Garden website.
