Almondsbury pub The Bowl Inn reopens after major refurbishment

The Bowl Inn at Almondsbury has reopened following an extensive refurbishment inside and out. With a history dating back to the 12th Century, the popular pub in the picturesque village has been given a complete makeover.

Wood-panelled walls in hues of blues and greys complement the original stone walls with ‘statement’ wallpaper, glass light fittings and botanical art work completing the modern country look. There’s now a bespoke timber-built back bar and new parquet and tiled floor throughout the bar and restaurant area which features upholstered banquette seating and traditional wooden furniture, creating a variety of cosy and elegant drinking and dining areas to choose from.

And it’s not just the bar and dining room that have had a facelift at the pub, which is run by Butcombe Pubs & Inns (part of Liberation Group). The 12 individually designed bedrooms have also been given a fresh and luxurious new look, too.

Andy Clarke, Operations Manager of Butcombe Pubs & Inns says: “The pub looks amazing. We’re incredibly proud of the new look and we can’t wait to show it off to locals and visitors. Despite the big changes the integrity of this beautiful building remains intact, as does our award-winning food and drink offering.”

The menu focuses on locally sourced produce, seasonal ingredients and elevated hearty pub classics. The menus and daily specials also feature Butcombe ales where possible - such as Butcombe Gold beer-battered fish and chips.

And on Sundays The Bowl Inn is aiming to serve the best roast in the area. Behind the bar is a great selection of wine and cocktails, alongside a wide range of craft beer, real ale and cider from Butcombe’s award-winning brewery. The Bowl Inn is dog-friendly, family-friendly and happy to cater for both large and small groups. The pub is just minutes from Junction 15 and 16 of the M5 and Junction 20 of the M4.
