Ally McCoist warns Rangers snipers to 'get a life' before he's called out over wake up alarm gaffe

Rangers royalty Ally McCoist has urged detractors of the Europa League finalists to keep quiet ahead of the big one in Seville.

But the 59-year-old momentarily lost his cool on live radio on the day of the game as his wake up alarm was heard by talkSPORT host Laura Woods.

The much-loved pundit admitted he made a gaffe over the time difference, as he was up bright and breezy to give fans an update from Spain.

McCoist is buzzing ahead of the duel with Eintracht Frankfurt but was left smarting by some of the punters from other clubs hoping Rangers come up short.

And Aberdeen fan Stevie got it in the neck from Rangers' all-time top scorer as sent a message to the cynics doubting Gio van Bronckhorst 's side.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "Listen, I wanted Aberdeen to win the Cup Winners' Cup, whenever it was.

"Get a life, Steve, get a life."

McCoist admits the drinks are on him if the team he loves are victorious against the Germans in the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

And the former Rangers boss has revealed his affinity with Andre Villas Boas after the pair were spotted posing together last night.

Speaking to Woods' co-host and radio pal Gabriel Agbonlahor, he added: "Gabby, I am going to throw my wallet to the crowd if we win tonight.

"I am going to throw credit cards about, it will be deep joy.

"Gabby, I can't tell you how buzzing I am.

"We had a marvellous night last night, a lovely bit of food

"We watched the boys train, I met my old pal, Andre Villas Boas, AVB was there. We went through coaching badges together.

"We had a wee hug and photograph together, it was magic."
