Ally McCoist has sent Celtic fans a cheeky dig after their celebrations over a disallowed goal by VAR were cut short.
The Rangers icon's beloved Light Blues didn't fare too well in Europe either this week as they lost 2-0 to Liverpool in a meek Champions League showing. But he was delighted with how both they and Celtic fans travelled in numbers to support their teams, however, the temptation to have a pop at old rivals was too tempting.
Ange Postecoglou's side were swept aside 3-1 by Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig and footage of travelling Hoops supporters getting caught up in euphoria after a disallowed Leipzig goal has emerged - mere seconds before Joe Hart's costly backpass. It allowed Andre Silva to put the home side ahead again and he finished off the job soon after. McCoist told BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra: "I thought both travelling supports for the Glasgow clubs were absolutely fantastic.
"Tremendous performance. Particularly the Celtic fans, they've won an award, a FIFA award, that's the best celebration for having a goal disallowed by VAR.
"I mean that was a fantastic achievement, I'd like to congratulate the Celtic boys for that one."
Both clubs return to domestic action in the Premiership this weekend before facing off against their midweek foes against next week.
