Rangers hero Ally McCoist has jumped on Chris Sutton's hesitation to declare Celtic's Treble hopes on - questioning the Parkhead hero "you don't think they will do it?"
Ange Postecoglou's men claimed the first silverware of the season when they saw off Michael Beale's men at Hampden to keep the Viaplay Cup at Celtic Park, and with a convincing nine point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership the Scottish Cup appears to be all that would stop a clean sweep of Scotland's domestic honours. Beale will look to keep the Scottish Cup at Ibrox and lift his first piece of silverware at Ibrox boss, but the hopes of Celtic fans have ramped up.
However, Sutton was keen to remain humble when the topic was approached. BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra host Darrell Currie stated Celtic were "on for a Treble", before Sutton interjected. He responded: "Darrell, let's stop the Treble talk. Come on."
Grinning McCoist quickly chimed in: "You don't think they will do it, Chris? You don't think they will do it? Are you doubting the Treble Chris?"
Sutton laughed: 'You have come back quickly there. What I would say is I think we need to learn lessons and do your talking on the pitch, Game by game, that is Celtic's process, Ust concentrate on what is in front of you."
Rangers legend McCoist went on: "Don't you dare give us that post match drivel, when you were Lincoln manager after a 2-0 victory at Rochdale. We don't want to hear that."
Sutton: 'We never won. On that note I am going to give a McCoist type answer here, Celtic have a better chance of winning a Treble than Rangers."
