Rangers legend Ally McCoist has revealed Shay Given had him in his cross hairs after he ripped Kris Boyd to shreds.
The revered Republic of Ireland keeper was live on Sky Sports with Boyd on transfer deadline day, as the former Ibrox striker was looking for a fist bump after Aaron Ramsey's arrival.
But Celtic fan Given couldn't resist firing back at Boyd and urged him to "keep your chins up" after the Hoops trounced their rivals last Wednesday.
And McCoist admits he was also on Given's hitlist in the wake of Ange Postecoglou's side running amok to leapfrog their rivals.
The Ibrox icon told talkSPORT: "I'll tell you the type of guy he is, right.
"He was first to send me a message after the recent Celtic vs Rangers game, that will give you an indication of what type of guy he is.
"And by the way, Robbie Keane was second, the two of them, couldn't get into me quick enough."
And former England striker Darren Bent also had a word for former Aston Villa pal Given, after watching him spar with Boyd before on TV.
Bent said: "I saw him make his debut on Sky's transfer deadline day, he did alright, but he couldn't get a word in with (Kris) Boydy and Clinton Morrison, he had no chance, but he held his own."
