Ally McCoist has once again delivered his views over Michael Beale as the next Rangers manager as he named the man he would lean more towards.
The former Light Blues No2 - who served under Steven Gerrard during his time in the Ibrox hot seat - looks set for a sensational return north of the border to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst following the sacking of the Dutchman at the start of the week. The search for the next boss has been underway since the decision to let the 47-year-old go.
McCoist knows exactly what it takes to be in charge at Rangers having been in the role himself and admits he will be a 'little surprised' if his old club go down that route due to him believing that a more experienced manager would be better suited. With that in mind, the Ibrox hero has named former Burnley boss Sean Dyche as the man he would see as a more secure option.

He told talkSPORT : “I think the fact is he probably knows Rangers well after being there with Steven, he knows the city, knows the whole set up, so I would imagine that would come into play in his decision if and when he’s offered the job.
“There haven’t been any real clear cut candidates, I think in terms of security I’d probably lean towards Sean [Dyche] to tell you the truth, mainly because of experience but then is it worth taking a gamble?
“I’ve heard nothing but good things about him out on the pitch itself. The big plus he’s got is the board know him and the players know him so they’re obviously happy enough with the job that they’ve seen him do.
“I’m a little bit surprised, obviously he’s very well thought of, I wasn’t expecting a bigger name but someone with a bit more experience to be honest.
“I know he knows the club but at the same time it’s a different kettle of fish managing players at a club like Rangers and it’s very, very early into his management career.”
The next manager faces a big task of clawing Celtic back this season with the champions nine points ahead at the Premiership summit as Ange Postecoglou bids to win back to back league titles.
