Ally McCoist has named FOUR Rangers positions that need addressed MORE than a new sporting director.
Ross Wilson departed the Light Blues earlier this week to return south of the border with English Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest. Michael Beale has confirmed that plans for the summer are well underway despite the Ibrox departure with the gaffer previously stating he would like at least FIVE new additions.
His recruitment drive started in January with the captures of Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin while a number of players are in the final months of contracts with decisions over futures at the club yet to be determined. The likes of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack are in that group as are veteran duo Allan McGregor and Steven Davis.

McCoist - a Rangers legend and former boss - believes the manager and his staff should have the final say on players and getting the signings he wants with the backing from the board is more important than replacing Wilson's position.
He told BT Sports's Scottish football extra show: “Do you know something? They need a goalkeeper, a centre half, a left-back and a centre forward more than they need a director of football. That’s what they need.
“Your argument would be that the director of football would pick that, right?
“Call me old fashioned, I want the manager and his staff to have the final say on the players. Because if they’re going to be judged on results the manager must be able to pick his own players.”
He continued: “Surely if you’re the manager or number one coach, you want the responsibility to land at your door.
“You don’t want to say, ‘well we got beat 2-1 but what about that left back we’ve got, I didn’t even sign him.’ That’s nonsense."
