Ally McCoist namechecks Rangers in pundit award speech as he trolls Roy Keane with ten word quip

Ally McCoist couldn't resist a dig at fellow pundit Roy Keane after the Rangers hero picked up a prestigious award.

The Pundit of the Year prize was scooped by the ever-entertaining McCoist at a ceremony in London on Monday night as the Scot fought of former Celtic man and BT Sports pal Chris Sutton as well as the likes of Alan Shearer and Ian Wright to the top accolade. Also in attendance was former Parkhead man and Manchester United legend Keane.

And the 60-year-old was quick witted when accepting his award, throwing a barb at the Irishman after he witnessed Erik Ten Hag's men being obliterated by Liverpool in a 7-0 hammering on Sunday.

He said: "I don’t think Roy’s had a worse 48 hours!"

He added: “In all seriousness I genuinely did not expect to be standing winning this when I look at the competition - the competition was fierce.

"I love my job. I’m the luckiest man alive. I really am. Rangers centre forward, Scotland centre forward and working with the guys at talkSPORT and ITV. And I love every minute of it, I have to tell you.”
