Ally McCoist has paid a touching tribute to Queen Elizabeth II as he thanked her for her service in an emotional post.
Scottish football clubs up and down the country have paid their respects following the sad passing of the UK's longest-serving monarch. She died at Balmoral on Thursday afternoon aged 96 after reigning for 70 years.
He wrote on Instagram: "Nearly every day of my playing career at Rangers, I got ready for work under this picture. They were the happiest of days and we all loved it. The lady who was Queen Elizabeth II was so much to so many, myself included. Thanks for your service to us all."

His touching words come as the SPFL confirmed that professional games across the pyramid in Scotland would not go ahead this weekend as a mark of respect to the Queen. Rangers paid their own online tribute following the sad news and then all teams took part in a minute's silence on the training ground yesterday. The club also lowered the Union Flag at Ibrox stadium to half-mast as a mark of respect.
A Rangers club statement read: "The Directors, management, players and staff of Rangers Football Club are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.
"Her Majesty served the people of Great Britain and the Commonwealth for over 70 years with incredible devotion and dignity. She will be gravely missed by not just our nation, but nations across the world.
"It is with great pride that her portrait has hung in our home dressing room at Ibrox Stadium as a mark of the club’s appreciation for her phenomenal service.
"The thoughts of everyone at Rangers Football Club are today with the Royal Family and all those mourning the loss of Her Majesty at this exceptionally difficult time."
