Overjoyed Ally McCoist says there's no time like the present for Aaron Ramsey after he sealed a stunning loan move to Rangers.
The Juventus star has struggled for game time in recent months but the Ibrox icon insists he must be included in the squad for the crunch visit to Celtic on Wednesday.
Only two points separate the title rivals at the top and McCoist is convinced Ramsey's here to sample the biggest games right from the get go.
And he offered a firm response when asked by Jim White if Ramsey should be handed a Rangers baptism of fire in Glasgow's east end this week.
Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "Of course he can, Jim, get him in!
"What are you thinking about? It's Celtic at Celtic Park, Jim, get him in!
"We didn't bring him for Stenhousemuir reserves in the Cup, come on!."
And giddy McCoist also had a message for fellow talkSPORT host Adrian Durham, who cast a critical glare over Ramsey's arrival.
He claims Juventus are propping up another club by sanctioning the deal to let the Wales star head to Glasgow.
But McCoist is having none of it and offered a firm response to Durham and any other sceptics.
He added: "Adrian, these are the rules, no one is breaking the rules, clubs do it, they take players on loan to strengthen their position between now and the end of the season, those are the rules.
"We didn't make the rules, we didn't break the rules, what we are doing Adrian, is we're abiding by the rules.
"You won't get me out of my good mood, it won't work.
"I don't understand where is coming from."
