Ally McCoist has warned Ange Postecoglou that he would be walking into a "basket case" club should he decide to leave Celtic for Tottenham.
Spurs quickly identified the Australian as their top managerial target after they were turned down by Arne Slot last week.
Some reports have suggested that the 57-year-old's move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is already a done deal.
Hover, with a domestic treble and a fifth trophy out of six still to play for, Postecoglou played it very cool when addressing the topic with the media yesterday.
McCoist can certainly understand why Postecoglou would want to take the opportunity.
However, that's not to say that it doesn't come without its risks.
He told BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra: "He'd clearly be going to a better league, we can't argue about that. I don't think we can argue about that but it is a gamble, he's going to a club that is a little bit of a basket case at this moment in time where some seriously good coaches haven't succeeded.
"They could potentially lose their key asset, Harry Kane, of course the facilities are good. So I can understand the attraction of him going but I can also understand the desire to stay."
And it was here Chris Sutton made his feelings known, admitting he believes the Aussie will be off.
He added: "Let's get it right. This week, Ange Postecoglou could have put this story to bed.
"He could have said he is staying at Celtic. The fact he hasn't, most Celtic fans are thinking after the cup final most probably something will happen.
"But this is a guy who is ambitious and will want to manage in the Premier League. It's not like when Brendan Rodgers left under a cloud, I think most fans would wish Ange well."
Meanwhile, Scott Arfield has revealed that he has ambitions to return to Rangers in a coaching capacity one day.
The ex-Canada international left the club upon the expiry of his contract after five years with his boyhood team.
The 34-year-old leaves a fans' favourite after helping to play a key role in getting Rangers back to the top table of European football, as well as delivering their 55th title success of course.
In a sitdown with Rangers TV at the club's training ground, the attacking midfielder spoke candidly about his time with the Light Blues and his plans for the future.
