A striker who has been linked with Liverpool is “probably going to leave” this summer according to a club president.
The January transfer window saw Stade de Reims striker Hugo Ekitike heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. Newcastle were the club who were credited with the most interest, but in the end the player remained in France.
Following the closure of the January window, Liverpool became tentatively linked with a move for Ekitike. It was claimed by 90min that the Reds were joined by Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal in scouting the 19-year-old forward.

Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot has now addressed Ekitike’s future at the club, and has seemingly confirmed that the player is set to leave this summer. Caillot added that Reims did reject an offer for Ekitike in January.
“In Hugo’s case, he would waste time staying with us,” Caillot told Europe 1, via Goal.
"We refused an offer of €35 million (£29m) this winter, which is a lot of money for a club like ours.
"That money will be used to grow and improve the club. Hugo will be allowed to go, and he’s probably going to leave.
"There wasn’t a big club that didn’t inquire for him.”
