MUMBAI: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has moved Bombay high court urging it to stay its order that directed BMC to make adequate arrangements across Mumbai city and suburbs for safer immersion of Ganesh idols and to allow immersion within Aarey Milk Colony, Goregaon (east).
The interim application is filed in a pending PIL by NGO Vanashakti to direct BMC to prevent immersion within three lakes within Aarey Colony which is part of the eco-sensitive zone of Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
