Alliance Trust has announced an interim dividend of 6 pence, up 62% year-on-year, despite mixed performance across the portfolio.
For the six months to 30 June, the company’s net asset value (NAV) total return was down 10.5%, although this marginally outperformed its benchmark, the MSCI All Country World Index, which returned -11%.
Along with others in the sector, Alliance Trust's discount widened, which resulted in the total shareholder return being lower than the NAV total return, at -11.3%.
