Alleged drug trafficker found with cocaine, meth, shotgun shells: police

A man has been arrested and charged with drug trafficking after police and drug detection canines raided a Canberra home.

The 58-year-old is set to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday, charged with trafficking in a controlled drug, possessing ammunition and possessing a prohibited substance.

About 11am on Friday, police searched a Reid property on Ainslie Avenue following an investigation into the source of drugs being sold in the city area.

There, they seized what is believed to be methamphetamine and cocaine packaged in bags, mobile phones, shotgun shells, ID cards not belonging to the man, suspected cannabis matter, and drug paraphernalia.

Anyone who has information about vape or illicit drug distribution in the ACT is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
