An alleged drink-driver crashed head-on into another vehicle before becoming hostile towards paramedics, police say.
The 27-year old had a sling over his right arm when he was escorted into the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday, June 8.
The man, who is not being named at this time, has not yet entered pleas to negligent driving and drink-driving. He has been taken to a mental health hospital for evaluation.
Police allege the man was driving his black Toyota Kluger down Mount Ainslie Drive about 8.30pm on Sunday when the crash occurred.
"The collision resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, blocking the road in both directions," an ACT Policing spokesperson said.
The 27-year-old allegedly became hostile and aggressive towards paramedics and the people in the other vehicle while being treated at the scene.
Police arrested the driver after he allegedly returned a positive result for alcohol during a roadside screening test.
