The man accused of firing shots inside the Canberra Airport refused to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court via video link this morning, with the court hearing he became "sick of waiting" for his appearance.
Ali Rachid Ammoun, 63, was arrested by police at the airport after he allegedly fired a number of shots inside the building, damaging the windows, and leading to an evacuation.
No one was injured in the incident however flights were disrupted for several hours.
Mr Ammoun was remanded in custody and remains in jail in Canberra.
He is facing three charges, including discharging a firearm inside a building.
Today, Mr Ammoun was meant to appear via video link from jail but the court heard he got tired of waiting and returned to his cell.
As a result, the case was adjourned until next month.
In Mr Ammoun's absence, his lawyers asked for four weeks to agree on the facts in the case, but Magistrate Louise Taylor said that was too long for Mr Ammoun to wait in jail.
Magistrate Taylor said the case should instead return to court in two weeks' time.
