Allan Saint-Maximin says Wembley talk and Carabao Cup final ticket requests can't distract Newcastle United

Allan Saint-Maximin says that Newcastle United must maintain their professional focus in the next two Premier League matches before thinking too deeply about the Carabao Cup final.

The Magpies face AFC Bournemouth this Saturday night before another big encounter at St James' Park next weekend against Liverpool. It is understood that the players have been told their allocation of family tickets but the squad have been bombarded with requests for seats at Wembley.

When asked if it was tough not to think of Wembley, Saint-Maximin said: "For sure, I'm not going to lie, we think about the final. But we are professional, we know that the Premier League is so important as well.

"Every game we try to do be focused and to win the game. We train very hard during the week and the coach asks us to a lot. We need to listen to the small details as they important to give us more chances to win every game. We try to win every single game."

Speaking about being inundated by friends wanting tickets, the Toon star said: "A lot, a lot. We know how big it is for the club and the fans deserve to be there.

"That's why I every time I step on to the pitch I try to do my best. I will not let my team down, every player has the same philosophy and we always talk and say that.

"We will never let any fan down. Anything can happen but we are always fighting, it is the mentality of the team, that's why we are there at the moment. If we keep doing that we will win a lot of games."

Newcastle will look to maintain their unbeaten record at the Vitality Stadium this weekend against the second bottom side. Saint-Maximin enjoyed a good show last time out at the same venue in a 4-1 win when he grabbed a hat-trick of assists.

The winger added: "We go to Bournemouth and we know they are in a difficult position as well. We must do everything not to lose the game, and we need to be ready. We need to find a way to win."
