Allan Saint-Maximin has promised the 'best is yet to come' as he looks forward to a 'new chapter' with Newcastle United. The Magpies' fan favourite made a scintillating start to the season, but injuries have ruled the forward out for the majority of the campaign.
Saint-Maximin played a starring role as Newcastle earned a point against defending champions Manchester City with a thrilling 3-3 home draw in August. The 25-year-old followed this with a sensational equaliser at Wolves, but a hamstring injury and further setbacks has since limited his influence for Eddie Howe's side this term.
The congested schedule and an FA Cup third-round tie at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday could hand Saint-Maximin his first start for more than four months. Newcastle's excellent form in his absence has inevitably raised questions over his previously assured starting position, with the attacker himself admitting he had no qualms over his recent role as a bench option.

Saint-Maximin was only afforded late cameos in the recent away encounters at Arsenal and Leicester City, with Joelinton and Joe Willock excelling in recent weeks as a pairing on the left flank. However, Newcastle's number 10 has now taken to social media to thank fans for their ongoing support, and declaring 'better days' are to come.
He posted: "Starting off this new year, I wanted to thank everyone for the support & for always believing in me, through the good and the bad. As I begin a new chapter I will give my all as I always have for better days to come. I hope you guys are ready, the best is yet to come."
