Chris Wood believes his Newcastle United team-mate Allan Saint-Maximin has the potential to be "one of the best in the world". Saint-Maximin has been hampered by two separate injuries this season and hasn't started in the Premier League since August.
He started the season in promising fashion - registering two assists in Newcastle's 3-3 draw against Manchester City, and scoring a 90th minute equaliser against Wolves at Molineux. His phenomenal volley against Wolves was later voted BBC Match of the Day's goal of the month for August, but Saint-Maximin has struggled with his fitness ever since.
Despite his recent injury problems, Wood has backed the Frenchman to establish himself among the elite in world football in the years to come.

"We have a lot of good players here and Allan is definitely one of them," Wood told Eurosport. "He shows a lot of talent on the field and on the training ground and has the potential to achieve anything he wants. I think in the future he can be one of the best in the world."
Fortunately, Saint-Maximin is nearing a return to full fitness, and the World Cup break will provide him with more time to fully recover. He has been gradually warmed back into the action with two appearances from the bench in Newcastle's last three league games.
The winger also completed his first 90 minutes in over two months in the Magpies' Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace last week.
