Allan McGregor hints at Rangers stay as veteran keeper insists nothing is decided despite Hampden gesture

Allan McGregor isn't ruling out remaining at Ibrox for another season.

The veteran keeper is out of contract at Rangers in the summer but insists that there's no panic at his end to get a deal done.

There has been speculation that the 40-year-old could retire - especially given the fact he was brought on for the final minute of Rangers' Scottish Cup final win over Hearts after Jon McLaughlin was chosen to start the showpiece.

However McGregor insists he will have a Light Blues jersey on again sometime in the future, which raises question marks if a deal could be struck to remain part of Gio van Bronckhorst 's side.

"Nobody said that (it was my last game for Rangers)," McGregor told Premier Sports.

"I'm sure I'll have a Rangers jersey on at some point in the future.

"I've not thought about it (the future). The last few months have been hectic since the last international break. There's been games every midweek. I've maybe only had one week off.

"All I was focusing on was the next game. So this is the last game.

"I'll speak to the club soon enough and we'll take it from there.

"I'll have a holiday and have a pre-season and we'll see how it goes"

And the stopper who has amassed over 300 appearances for Rangers was adamant he could still play at the top level if he wanted when asked if he thought his body would allow him to play on another season.

He added: "We'll see. I can speak to the club easily and they can speak to me easily. But it's not a big problem so it's not something we need to discuss.

"It's just a general chat rather than anything else just to see what the scoop is."
