Allan McGregor coy on Rangers future as talks to take place 'soon enough'

Allan McGregor coy on Rangers future as talks to take place 'soon enough'

ALLAN MCGREGOR refused to offer any information on his Rangers future after lifting the Scottish Cup.

The veteran Ibrox stopper is out of contract in the summer and was brought on in the final minutes of the Hampden triumph this afternoon.

It sparked speculation it could be his last time playing for the club, but McGregor refused to clarify his future when quizzed on Premier Sports.

Asked if it was his last game in a Rangers shirt, McGregor replied: "Nobody said that. Is that a question or a statement?

"I'm sure I'll have a Rangers jersey on at some point in my life."

But further quizzed on his future, McGregor admitted he'll speak to the club "soon enough".

Grilled on whether he'll play on next season, he said: "I don't know, I've not thought about it.

"The last few months have been hectic since the last international break it's been games every midweek, we've maybe had one week off.

"We're always focussing on the next game so this is the last game so I've not thought about it.

"I'll speak to the club soon enough and then we'll take it from there."

Premier Sports presenter Emma Dodds then questioned McGregor on his physical condition with the keeper having turned 40 in January.

McGregor again was coy on his thoughts on another season, as he said: "I don't know, well, I've not had a holiday in a while and then after a holiday to come back and do a pre-season, you never know.

"We'll see, I can speak to the club easily, they can speak to me easily to see.

"It's not a big problem, it's not a heated discussion it's just a general chat rather than anything else to see what the script is. Then we take it from there."
