PlayStation players won’t have to wait much longer to revisit two of the most beloved Call of Duty games, as Treyarch has officially confirmed that Black Ops and Black Ops 2 are being ported to PS4 and PS5, with both titles scheduled to launch in July 2026.
While an exact release date has not yet been announced, both iconic CoD games are expected to arrive to modern PlayStation consoles sometime during the month and will include the full Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies experiences.

This marks the first time PlayStation users have been able to play these titles natively since the PS3 era. While Xbox players have enjoyed access through backward compatibility for years, PlayStation owners have been unable to play either game on PS4 or PS5 until now.
BO1 and BO2 PlayStation ports price
The Black Ops and Black Ops 2 are sold separately for $40 each, meaning players would spend $80 to purchase both titles. PlayStation Plus subscribers can purchase each game for $20 for a limited time.
Players can purchase the Season Pass for $30, while PS Plus subscribers can buy it for $10. That is notably cheaper than the original $50 bundle.
All Personalization Packs in the BO1 and BO2 ports are free.

What to expect from BO1 and BO2 ports on PS4 and PS5
One of the most important details revealed so far is that the BO1 and BO2 on PS4 and PS5 are ports rather than remasters. That means you should not expect redesigned visuals, rebuilt assets, or major gameplay changes. The goal is to preserve the original experience while making it accessible on modern PlayStation systems.
Both games will include their complete core offerings at launch, featuring their original Campaigns, Multiplayer modes, and Zombies experiences. You can once again follow Alex Mason’s Cold War-era story in the original Black Ops, revisit the futuristic conflict of Black Ops 2, and jump back into some of the most beloved Zombies maps in franchise history.
The PlayStation versions are also expected to run on dedicated modern servers rather than relying on the original PS3 infrastructure. However, Treyarch has not announced any performance enhancements, quality-of-life improvements, crossplay support, or additional features. More details are likely to be revealed closer to launch.
